TAX is DIFFICULT
Updated: Oct 7
Our income is confiscated on payday and we call it Income Tax.
And again when we spend what's left and we call it VAT or Sales Tax.
We pay road tax, petrol tax, beer tax, council tax, stamp duty, import duty, capital gains tax, and even corporation tax ultimately comes from the pocket of customers.
And when you die, they'll steal another chunk of whatever you've managed to save, before your children can have what remains.
We tell ourselves we're funding roads, schools and hospitals, though the nurses are under payed and doctors overworked, the roads are full of holes and goodness knows what they're teaching kids these days.
Every unacceptable thing the government wastes money on—from their own second homes, all the way to intercontinental genocide—is funded by our involuntary contributions.
Let's be honest, tax is a tribute we pay to government for permission to stay out of prison, which is an absolute piss-take.
Voluntary contribution is the only reasonable way to fund civic projects.
I would accept detailed proposals for what they need my money for, and I will choose how much to donate.
